The Wyoming Workforce Development Council has awarded the newly reopened Saratoga Sawmill, now known as Saratoga Forest Management, a $50,000 grant to train 22 workers in the Saratoga area.
The council allocated the grant money to the Department of Workforce Services’s Workforce Development Training Fund program. The training fund encourages business expansion, enhances employment opportunities within Wyoming and meets the training needs of new and existing businesses in the state.
The training will qualify the workers to be able to perform highly specialized operations in all areas of sawmill processes.
Saratoga Forest Management will employ nearly 80 people, not including loggers and drivers.
