Rosboro Announces Upgrade Investment

Officials with Oregon-based Rosboro, North America’s largest producer of glulam products for the housing market, recently announced plans to spend about $120 million to build a new sawmill and glum plant and expand drying operations at its Springfield facility. Rosboro Vice President of Marketing and Strategic Development Brian Wells said the investment will allow the company to better support the market while investing in the future. He added that the dry-kiln expansion is almost complete, and both mills should be operational by the end of 2026.

In February, Rosboro laid off 25 workers when closing its stud mill in Springfield. Wells said the company will now retool the mill to better support the glulam side of the business with increased high quality lam stock production to go along with traditional lumber production.
