Portland Show Will Honor Andy Pollard
Timber Processing & Energy Expo (TP&EE) will officially present the Timber Processing 2024 Person of the Year Award to Andy Pollard of Pollard Lumber on Wednesday afternoon, September 25, which is the first day of the event to be held at the Portland Exposition Center in Portland, Ore.
The January issue of Timber Processing published an article on Pollard as the recipient of the award, noting his numerous innovations and patents in sawmilling technology, including the curve-sawing gang and continuous dry kiln.
Everyone is invited to the presentation ceremony on the show floor.
Over 170 have signed up for the event to be held September 25-27. They’ll showcase their technologies and supplies to lumbermen on 45,000 square feet of booth space.
Attendee registration opens July 15 on the TP&EE web site. Admission is free to anybody who registers prior to the beginning of the show.
In addition to the Person of the Year presentation, TP&EE will once again feature its massive Beer Garden, and the Sawmill Productivity & Efficiency Conference, details of which will be released in June.
TP&EE continues it Preferred Partners program, which is an alliance with several industry groups to support promotions and attendance.
The event is produced by Hatton-Brown Expositions and hosted by Timber Processing magazine.

Some of the smartest men and women in the industry have graced the pages of this magazine—and have won the award of Timber Processing Person of the Year. They’ve all been incredibly worthy of this recognition for innovation, commitment and love of the industry they serve. Perhaps none have been quite as innovative as the introverted sawmiller from Georgia named Levi Anderson Pollard, V, whose name is on two of the patents that changed the way the sawmilling world manufactures and dries lumber (and on so many other patents as well).
